Selected for director's pick at The Other Art Fair Los Angeles 2023, Charles Michael Davis is an interdisciplinary artist whose debut exhibition centered on his photography. It was during his time at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio that he discovered his passion for photography during a 35mm camera course, and with the guidance of his instructor, was able to unlock his natural talent. Charles went on to work as a model for esteemed photographers, such as Yu Tsai, Jim Jordan, and Mark Seliger, picking up invaluable knowledge and honing his own artistic practice. As a versatile artist, he has also directed television episodes and music videos, while also training in the disciplines of piano and dance. Drawing inspiration from iconic figures such as Brigitte Lacombe, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Gordon Parks, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Michael Kenna, and Robert Longo, Charles is shaping his works to illuminate a conversation on the wild at heart.
